Buildrite Donates to a Local K-9 Unit
Buildrite was proud to make a donation on Thursday, September 10, 2020 to support the Cobb County, Georgia Police officers’ K-9 Unit. The check will go toward buying new vests for the K-9 Unit dogs. This K-9 Unit’s mission is to support the precincts, special operations and investigative units of the Cobb County Police Department. At the present moment, the unit has nine K-9 teams which have three breeds, including German Shepherds, Belgian Malinois and a Dutch Shepherd. Three of the K-9 teams focus on explosive detection, and six of the teams are devoted to detecting narcotics, tracking and recovering evidence. They have certification for the explosive K-9 teams through the Georgia Emergency Management Explosive Detection Dog Program, and have members of that program as well. They have national certification for the narcotics/patrol teams from the National Narcotics Detector Dog Association and the North American Police Work Dog Association. You may have seen K-9 Units do demonstrations at events throughout the year, which they do for the public in addition to their investigative and patrol functions. With gratitude for Buildrite’s donation, the officers themselves said just saying hello and thanking an officer goes a long way.
