Atlanta Building Spotlight: Center for Civil and Human Rights
Beautiful and poignant, this month’s Atlanta Building Spotlight features The National Center for Civil and Human Rights. Located adjacent to Centennial Olympic Park, The Georgia Aquarium and The World of Coca Cola, it is the newest addition to the Pemberton Place attraction center.
The goal of the Center as quoted in its mission statement is to “empower people to take the protection of every human's rights personally.” The statement continues to say, “Through sharing stories of courage and struggle around the world, The Center encourages visitors to gain a deeper understanding of the role they play in helping to protect the rights of all people.”
The Center’s current exhibits include "Voice to the Voiceless: The Morehouse College Martin Luther King, Jr. Collection", "Rolls Down Like Water: The American Civil Rights Movement", and "Spark of Conviction: The Global Human Rights Movement".
